They're baaack: "The Goats on the Roof" at Coombs
They’re baaaack.
Well, almost that is.
The world famous "Goats on the Roof" will be back keeping an eye over Coombs in just a matter of weeks.
As Larry Geekie and his loyal band of staff get ready to re-open the Old Country Market in Coombs on the 3rd of March, plans are underway to make this season one for the record books.
Coombs is not going to know what hit it when they see the treasures that The Old Country Market has in store.
One of the biggest changes that visitors to this international tourist destination will find is the long-awaited opening of the still-to-be-named Old Country Market pizza restaurant. Complete with a wood-burning oven, locals are already salivating at the possibility of being able to buy home-cooked and wood-fired pizza right in the heart of Coombs.
While the scent of Larry’s infamous cinnamon buns is known to waft through the early morning air in Coombs, soon that sweet, aromatic scent is going to be replaced by the afternoon aroma of yummy, gooey pizza baking in the oven.
Tucked in just slightly behind the grocery and produce market, this vivacious village venue promises to be an out-of-the-box instant hit. If you thought the crowds were plentiful last year, just think what they are going to be like once word gets out that The Market now boasts its very own pizza parlour.
Another update that will hopefully be up and running for the beginning of the 2011 summer season is the arrival of live, streaming video of the goofy goats and their antics. Just imagine being able to plan your visit from the comfort of your resort room by checking out the goats prior to heading over to The Market. You will have the inside scoop as to their exact location in order to capture the perfect photos.
Speaking of scoops, those renowned scoops of ice cream will be back before the sunny days of summer hit. Visitors can once again enjoy a leisurely stroll through the quaint village of Coombs while enjoying their favorite flavor. Yummy ice cream and goofy goats, what more could you ask for on a hot sunny summer day?
The main market is slated to open on March 3rd with the garden center opening shortly thereafter. If things go according to plan, the warm and wafting scent of pizza will arrive just in time for spring break.
Weather permitting, the stars of the show will be back up watching over Coombs just in time for April Fools Day. Their introduction to the World Wide Web is scheduled for the start of summer.
With this much action on tap for the summer, locals are advised to enjoy the Coombs that they have come to love during the quieter months of spring. Those goats already ham it up enough as it is. Can you imagine the ninnies those nannies are going to become once they become internet superstars?
